Default Looking for a lost friend

Hello Melanie,

I'm hoping you can help me find my long-lost pen pal.

When I was a senior in high school, one of our projects for German class was to write to a city in Germany, get facts on the city, and then give a report in class. I was able to become friends with the daughter of the mayor of one particular city. (I wrote to several cities because I was fascinated with the information sent to me ). We became good friends; sent Christmas gifts to each other for several years, and was even able to meet back in 1997). She married her boyfriend, Detlef, and I married my boyfriend in 2000, and somehow, we lost touch. I SO badly want to get in contact with her again! I'm hoping you can help me!! Her name is Elisabeth (Mostl) Marschke. At the time, she and Detlef lived in Tirschenreuth, Germany, but I'm not sure if she is still there now. She would be between 54-58 years old and worked for Siemen's.

Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for my father whom I have not seen since I was one years old. I am now 44 with children of my own and I would like to contact him.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. This forum is the best I have seen so far and a great hope for me.

His name is Gunter Stieglitz from Offenbach. I was born in Bruckenau.

Thanks for any help
Gary

There are several social networks in germany which help you finding your friends, children or other family members in germany, such as:

www.wer-kennt-wen.de (who knows who)
www.stayfriends.de

many people are on facebook, too.

If you are looking for young people in school age, try wer-kennt-wen.de first. stayfriends is mostly used by older people who are searching for old school friends. But to be safe, check out both websites.

If you need help, let me know if you want, i can check them out for you, it´s just a little click on the search button.

Melanie
