Hi - Not really sure where to start. Just found this place a couple of days ago, and have been overwhelmed by some of the stories I read.

My name is Thy G. Le. Borned in 1970. My parents sent me on a long journey to escape Saigon, Vietnam on a boat in 1981. I was lucky and was rescued by a German ship, and eventually landed in the US in 1983. About 2 weeks after I left Vietnam, my parents sent my older sister on the same journey.... that was the last we heard of her. It has been hard, especially for my mom to not know what had happened to my sister. I have heard of water mines placed by the "viet cong" stories and pirates from Thailand stories.

To be honest, I don't really know where to start to find her if she's still out there. Her name is Thuy Giao Le. Borned in 1968 in Vietnam. Thai Gia Le, our dad is still in Vietnam. En Thi Do, our mom is here in California along with younger sister.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you think she may have changed her name? If so, any ideas? Has she ever used another name?

I don't think she would change her name. She was 13 when she left to try to escape communism. So if she made it out like I was lucky enough to be able to, she would have tried to get in touch with my parents.... but we have never heard of anything.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Very sad. I can't imagine being that young & shipped away.

You might see if you can find a group that specializes in this. I don't doubt your sister is not the only one that is missing.

Is it possible she's in Germany?
