Hello- We have a family situation we are trying to get to the bottom of. My husband had always had the feeling that he is his fathers child but not his mothers. His father was a kentucky man that traveled to Ohio to earn a living. Apparently there was not a lot going on in kentucky but coal mining in the mid 50's. Well what he remembers is alot of mistreatment by his family and extended family. He can remember being made to stay under the porch as a child visiting aunt and uncles and overhearing family conversations. The older siblings have a story that one day dad came home with a puppy and a baby the baby was by husband.
So the only solid info I really have is my husband's dads info. My husband will not confront his mother or the woman that raised him. She is very old now and he feels it would not be the right thing to do. His dad died in 1987. I guess I need to know where I might be able to search birth records by fathers name, of course I know this is probably a long shot since the dads name may never have been recorded on the birth certificate. believe the birth would have been in southwestern ohio

any info will be appreciated
