I've debated over a decade about wanting to know about my mother. My father doesn't talk about her because I think he is still very hurt and angry that she walked out of our lives when I was a baby; I did try on numerous occasions to receive "If she wanted to know you, she'd find you herself."
Anyway... Her family was from Collingslakes, NJ her name was Kathleen DeFelice(maiden) she married J. Twesten (my dad) in the mid '80's. Might have been '85... They met I believe at the Sands Casino in AC. She was born on January 19 (not sure of the year). She gave birth to me in Atlantic City, NJ on June 12, 1987.
On June 12, 2010 I gave birth to my own baby girl. If anything I just want her to know that her daughter came out just fine and that she now has a beautiful granddaughter to be proud of. I'm in no way interested in ruining her life, or interrupting the family she no doubt has now... I also want her to know that I never blamed her for leaving or hold anything against her.
I always felt that she may have been embarrassed because of this. Her being younger then my dad and all... If anyone has any information, that'd be lovely.
I've also tried people search sites and they always come up with four or five results and I don't trust paying any of them since money is tight right now.
Thank you all so much. I'm not surprised she is in Florida. Her stepfather used to live down there, but he died some years ago if I remember correctly.
I guess Raymond would be her husband now? Does anyone have a little encouragement or suggestions on how I might go about just saying the few things I have to say... I mean, if I call I think I might freeze up unless I get a voice mail!
Again, thank you all so so much. You're great people for helping like this.
I talked to my mother for the first time tonight for well over an hour. We've never been more elated.
In the mean time I also reconnected with two of her sisters and their children over facebook because of it. I'm so appreciative to you all and what you do here.
