I notice many first time users of City Date jump right in the middle of someboy else's thread. This is called hijacking a thread and is a BIG NONO.

For one thing, it is rude and the other most important thing is NOBODY WILL SEE it in the middle of somebody's thread. So if you are looking for somebody--mention the name in the title and give as much info as you can in the text.. It slays me when somebody says "I'm looking for my son born in 1960 in Texas" That is not enough info for anybody to help.

Default Starting New Thread

You know why? Cause its impossible to find where ot start your own thread here. I just spent 20 min on the site and I can't find how to start the new Thread! I am afraid I will have to reply to some similar topic to post my question

So maybe I am blind, but do not see the button on the left to begin a new thread, only a button for thread tools, which does not allow you to post a new thread. Thank you for any help. It is much appreciated.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/people-search/ - On the top left there is a new thread button before the titles of the threads start. This applies to any other forum.

Look at the top of your screen under the bar with "My Settings", "Blogs", "Subscribed Info", etc. Now look just below that. Do you see on the right hand side where it says Page 1 of 290? Now look to the immediate left of that. Do you see where it says New Thread? That's the one to click on to start your own thread. Hope this helps.
