Hello my step-dad died recently, now my mom needs to know his parents name for social security reasons. His parents died years ago so he never talk much about them.

Any advice on where to start looking online?

If you want to give us his name and birthdate, we may be able to find the info for you.

Or....

She could send off for a copy of his birth certificate.

If you know his birthplace, I can find the address or website to order a copy of his birth certificate.

Did he live in Beaumont, Texas?

Thank you so much. Yes, he lived in Beaumont, Texas. But he was born in Louisiana. Do you need the city as well?

Thanks

Louisiana doesn't make a birth index available to the public, so ordering the BC is your best option.

Here's the website for information on ordering a copy of his BC

Records and Statistics (Vital Records) - Center for Records and Statistics - Office of Public Health - Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals
