We know OF relatives, but no detailed information. My dads father died sometime in the late 60's early 70's in a railroad accident. His name was also Aubrey Lynn Watson. My dads mother Ruth was getting old in 1990, we aren't sure if she is still alive or even in shape to be contacted. We know she has other children that are approximately 10 years older than my dad. No idea what their names are. She re-married at some point to a man named Roy (Unknown last name) Nobody from my family has seen or heard from any of them since 1990. Of his friends, my mom can only remember Baldasano (Full name unknown) from the Marine Corps.

Recap of accurate information:
Is known to have had one other name, Aubrey Griffin-Watson
Birth date 3/29/1968 in Alabama (Confirmed on my birth certificate)
Went to high school in Pell City, AL and graduated there
Marine Corps: Stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and Okinawa, Japan and was deployed to Panama in the 90's.
Suffers (Or suffered) from PTSD which may or may not be important. He wasn't very fond of the Military after the war.

Recap of possibilities:
My mom says hes the type who would stay close to home, so may be in Alabama still.
Second favorite place was Florida, Might be there.
Lived with mother, Ruth Watson
Might have been in jail at some point.
May go by his middle name, Lynn.

That is everything we know. Anything after that is news to us. A lot can change in 20 years.

Ruth E Watson and Ruth W Richards have the same date of birth - 6/15/1928 (mentioned in an earlier post by Cali) Husband was Orville S Richards and an associated relative is Evan W Richards.

Possible places lived for Ruth E Watson & Evan W Richards are: Bryant AL and Avon Park FL

569 County Rd 89, Bryant FL
256-597-2707

This is the property record for the home in Bryant...
Jackson County Alabama

It's owned jointly by Ruth and Evan so he is likely her son. At this point it's worth a shot to call.

Try the number I gave you for Ruth. There's nothing to indicate she's passed on or is mentally incapacitated. You have nothing to lose by calling.

Edit: And the numbers Eliz found. (we keep posting at the same time. )

Evan W Richards of the above address was born 7/22/1919 so he's not a son.

Died 10/14/2002

Which did you try? The Bryant or Birmingham number?

Are you identifying yourself as his son when you call? Because some people, when a stranger calls and asks for someone by full name, assume it's a bill collector and say they don't know him.

I tried both. The Birmingham number is no longer in service, and the Bryant number didn't know who he was. I usually say I'm looking for my Father, Aubrey Lynn Watson.

*sigh*

Dok, if his PTSD continued, he may be in a VA or other longterm care or assisted living facility. So he'd be receiving benefits and the VA and SSA would know where he is. Try the SS site I posted on the first page of the thread.

It looks like that will be what I will do. My mom paid for a search on Intellius, even though I warned her of their reputation, and of course it came back with nothing we hadn't already found.

I think I have enough information to include in the letter for them to figure out who he is (Can't be many Aubrey Lynn Watson Jr.'s anyways... I hope)

I have: Birth date, Birth place, Mothers Name, Fathers Name, Military background, and a 'most likely' location.

I guess I will just wait and see if he gets the letter and decides to respond.

Thanks for all the help, if anyone comes up with any new information or by some chance knows who he is... Don't hesitate to contact me through this forum, I check it every day.
