My 2nd great grandparents helped to settle Posen in 1879. Herman and Anna Setzepfund. They had daughters Ida, Bertha, Emilie and Olga. I would love to get some photos and maybe information about the town. I can't seem to find out what happened to the daughters (except Ida) Does anyone live there or nearby that could help me?

According to my nifty Google Earth, there is no actual town of Posen. "Saint Lukes School" is a mile east. Looks like three houses at an intersection. Rts. 26 and 6 or about 6.5 miles ESE of Cottonwood. I think Golfgal lived in Marshall, not to put her under any pressure
Good luck on finding information.

I have never heard of Posen either. It looks like there is a Posen Township in Yellow Medicine county. There is actually a reference on the City Data for this township so if you go to the home page of CD and find Minnesota and you can search for Posen Township there. I don't recognized that name either. Sorry.

I have to move this to people search, too.

Default Posen

There was a town of Posen, at least that's what it says in the book "History of Minnesota". When I looked it up on the web, it said there are still people living there. My Great Grandfather is mentioned as being at the first township meeting in the school. Must be some historical artifacts someplace or with someone.
