I have probably searched the normal missing persons channels that you have already done. However, on White Pages Phone Directory with Free People Search, using a search for David M. Maurer, age 54 - - I have found some important clues that are still 'free of charge'. David M. Maurer is listed in Frankfort, Illinois - - Gary, Indiana - - Crown Point, Indiana - - Chicago, Illinois - - and Hanover Park, Illinois. Unfortunately, to go further, one has to subscribe to their missing persons listing.
So why not either obtain printed community telephone directories for these communities or better yet, visit those communities in person to look at their local telephone directories. Of all of the above communities, Crown point Indiana has the most listings at 4. Local public libraries in those particular communities would probably have their own telephone directories. Another method in detective work for missing persons is to determine the work patterns of missing David. What type of work does he do? A steel mill worker, perhaps? A police officer? A farming hand? Since you are obviously a relative, you would know this. So if David is interested in farming, then look in Frankfort, Illinois. If David is a police officer, then perhaps the county jail in Crown Point, Indiana. Incidentally, John Diillinger was incarcerated in that jail sometime back in the 1930s. He broke out of that jail. A steel mill worker? Then search Gary, Indiana. These are only suggestions and I am sure you have already thought about this since you have been searching for David longer than I have. 'Hope this helps
