I'm looking for a Richard Goff from the San Diego CA area. I know very little about him and I've tried everything that I can think of. All of the like whitepages.com and similar sites have hundreds of Richard Goffs. He was possibly in the navy around the early 1970s-and may have attended an 'Academy'. If anyone could help point me in any direction, I'm really at a stand still.
I've, in the past, 'attempted' to contact all of the ones who were around the right age (60s-70s) by letter and email. At least all of the ones I could find information to, using peoplefinders.com, zabasearch.com, pipl.com, intelius.com, whitepages, google.com, etc. I've made postings on ancestry.com, here, and classmates.com. I've contacted over ten possible military schools in the San Diego area. I'm really needing help to think outside the box.

Sorry...can barely keep up with the ones that only require 'inside' the box thinking. There are good people here who just might come through for you. Good luck.
You should try to get info from the National Archives. If you are related you have the right to get info. If he really was in the Navy... The records at a Naval Academy will be transferred to the archives after a certain amount of time (app 5yrs after completion?). Worth a try.
Well, are you sure about that time frame? Because I didn't think that military records were sent to the National Archives for 60 years after service. But I could be wrong. And after contacting the Naval Academy in Annapolis- He did not attend that school.
I work in that field, so I know they don't keep the local files longer than that, then they are either transferred or destroyed. But all the Service Member's Personal file is kept forever. All that is sent to the Archives. Check their website. Military Personnel Records
i took california out of the search given that he may have left the area. do you know a middle name or initial or any relatives names? there is one listed here in MI that formerly lived in Oceanside. As far as addresses go, sometimes i find that web only tracks so far back for the most part. it may not list areas of the 70's.
