I don't think there is a 1120 West 64th Street in NYC.

Can you scan what is written so we can see it?

Hi. I can't really scan it because the portrait is too big but I could take a picture of it but i don't know how to post that. If you could instruct me on how to do that I could.

Just wondering if you could scan the writing. I'm curious because there doesn't seem to be that address in NYC. I was wondering if what's written there might be interpreted differently by someone else.

Can you post again exactly what is written on it?

I imagine the writing may be somewhat faded?

Google Maps street views shows that 1120 64th St Brooklyn, NY 11219 is an older house, maybe from the 1950s or even older.
1120 W. 64th nyc - Google Maps
yes, the above is accurate.

The OP had said that the address she had was 1120 West 64th.

Change your N.Y. (too general) to Brooklyn and you find a 64th Street.
It begins at 2nd Avenue and runs until 5th Avenue and then dead ends.
It begins again at 6th Avenue and runs until it dead ends at Dahill Rd.

If you enlarge the map provided by gk90, you see that 64th street runs from the center of town in a due northwest direction.

What the residents called it, 75+ years ago, is not known.

And what is written on the back of the photo may not be of any value since there is currently, no street named W. 64th in Brooklyn.
And no 1120 64th in Manhattan, and no other 64th in Kings County.

Yes, a photo of the back could give more clues, if legible.

Um, the clothing in that picture is not from the 1920's-50's... it looks like around the 1890's-pre-1910. The notes about the hair and clothes are the photographer's notes for hand-coloring it.

That leaves out the Hyman/Sylvia/Walter Tillow family. Sylvia isn't old enough to be that woman and Hyman's mother wasn't in the USA. Hyman emigrated from Russia in the mid-1920's, married Sylvia in the 1930's and became a citizen in 1942. They lived on Guerlain St, Bronx, NY back then, and then at 308 W 88th St in 1949, 312 W 88th St in 1952 and 120 W 74th St in 1988.
