Class of 1975 Lee High School Houston
Do you recognize this ring? It was found on the hand of an as yet unidentified Jane Doe in 1990. The ring is potentially an important clue to finding her name and bringing her home to the people who loved her and lost track of her.
"One item found at the scene was a 1975 class ring from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, Texas. It is a classic style silver or white gold banded ladies ring with one blue (sapphire colored) cabochon (completely smooth/ovaled) stone in the center. The stone is most likely a synthetic sapphire, with an "L" inlaid into it. The ring is a size 9½ and has been resized twice. We do not know if it was up-sized or down-sized.
It is because of this ring that we turn to you, the Class of 1975, for help in finding Princess Blue’s identity. The ring may have belonged to her, or to a family member such as her mother or older sister, or to a friend."
Can you give any information as to when the ring may have been purchased, whether the "L" was an initial or signified the school? Do you know whom the ring might have belonged to? Any light you can shed on this mystery would be helpful. Thank you for your time and peace to you all!!!

What about posting this information on some of those 'Find a old high classmate' sites?

I love that suggestion-thank you. The sites are leery about those kinds of banners, although we are working with them. There is a mailing going out to some of the people in the class that have been located via yearbook etc...but the more people that can be touched across the web the better when it comes to this case. It is a solvable case, but it has been cold for a long time...

Actually, we obtained the 1975, Robert E. Lee High School, Houston, TX yearbook. We have been researching tirelessly for months to try to track down and contact every one of the 600 students from that graduating class. But, it has been tough. Many members have not yet been found, and many whom we have contacted haven't replied back to us---yet. There is always hope.
Several newspaper articles and media reports have been done on Princess in the last few months, and although nothing has come from them yet, you never know. Someone looking for a missing young woman might google and find a report, or info about Princess on one of the forums. So we will keep searching, putting Princess Blue's story out there, and one day it may lead to the discovery of who she was in life.
PJ45, I am very new here, but I am glad that believe sent the link to this forum. I noticed a post on the amnesia victim thread for Benjaman Kyle that you posted. You have excellent ideas about word choices(i.e. soda, pop, coke) and pronunciations that may be used to help him to find his identity.

Please note that information about the inlaid, "L" in the HS ring form the article that believe quoted may be misleading. I called Lee HS in Houston(formerly THE Robert E. Lee HS) months ago and spoke with the librarian in depth. Coincidentally this vhelpful lady graduated from REL in 1980 and has been the librarian there since 1989. She said that as far back as she can recall the inlaid, "L" was present in many of the rings. it was a popular option.
She and several of her friends had the same inlaid, "L" on the stones of their rings--just like Princess Blue's ring. It is not an engraving in the metal, but instead an inlaid, "L" in the stone itself. The librarian said the the L stood for the mascot, Robert E. Lee himself. So I doubt that the fact that there is an inlaid, "L" in Princess Blue's ring is of any significance, unfortunately.
However, that ring along with the other rings and jewelry found with her may be a clue.
