I'd like to know who owns a particular phone number and when I google it, I get a bunch of reverse look-up services that you can pay for. I don't mind paying a small fee, but all of these sites look a little shady and some reviewers say they start charging your credit card monthly even when you don't want them to.
Has anyone used their credit card for a particular service with a good outcome and no follow-up billing?
Try Intelius but avoid the premium service price and you should see a one time fee that might give you the results you want. We have used it a few times with one time fees and nonrecurring.
I ended up getting a prepaid debit card and using the Spokeo site, but I'm sure Intelius would have worked just as well. I used one-time service and even if they try to set me up for a monthly subscription, they won't get very far with that prepaid card.
Also, I got the information I was after, so if anyone wants to see who owns a particular number, that's a way to do it.

Yeah, basic information being whether it's a landline or mobile phone. Oh goodie. Clicking on name and location gets you....a page where you can choose your membership package.
Give me a break.
I seldom bother anymore. When I do, it's usually curiosity about a telemarketer, and persistence gets me all I need to know without paying. From phone listings to the Social Security Death Index, rip-off artists have managed to co-opt public information that used to be free, and charge us to access it. What a racket.
