My parents were foster parents, our last name is Garrett, we lived on Fairview Ave. in Dayton and went to EJ Brown School We kept brothers, Kevin & Eric Tankersley, they went back to their father, I think we had them around 3 years. I was not much older than Kevin and I was born in 1959. When they went back to their family we got David Compton and Rhonda Sue Foster. David was younger but close to my age and Rhonda was my brother's age so she would be around 51 now. David and his dog Mindy, went back to his mother. Rhonda was adopted, she came to see us after she turned 18, her adopted parents were not very happy about this. I would especially like to get in touch with her as we have pictures of when she was little and lots of stories. David and Rhonda were with us until around 1970-71, I think. I don't know what her adopted name is - all I know is that her adopted parents had lost a daughter and the social worker told my parents that she would be better off in another home where they could give her everything. We had asked about adopting her and they worked pretty hard to make my parents feel they were not the best choice for Rhonda. My mom says it is her biggest regret in life. So if anyone knows any information - I want nothing but to hear they had a good life. Thank you.
I think he was from Dayton, Ohio and if I remember correctly the father's name could have James. What I remember is that their mother and died and he wasn't able to take care of them. I was very young and my parents can not help as their memory is pretty bad. After the boys left us they did end up going to EJ Brown school, so at least for awhile they were in Dayton. I do not remember their middle names.
