I am in search of a person named Suzie Jarvis, lived in Hammond, Indiana in the 1940s. She was a young child at the time, around five years old.
Her father's name was Jim Jarvis.
Suzie and her family resided on Clark Street in Hammond, next to a Lewandowski family, a large extended family with many children together in one house. Suzie was around the same age as one of the youngest Lewandowski boys; he is looking for her today and on his part I am posting this message. He believes the Jarvis family came from "down south, " and he says that one night the family moved away from Clark Street and did not inform any neighbors about where they were moving. This occurred some time in the 1940s, maybe mid-1940s.
I checked the census records from 1940 and I did not see a Jarvis family living on Clark Street.
Other Jarvises have turned up in Hammond but I am not sure if they are associated with this family.

The free site Family Search has a 1942 WW2 Draft Card for James A Jarvis on Clark St
After a bit of work, found 4331 Clark St in the 1940 Census. Unfortunately no Jarvis showed up. Only a whole tribe of Lewandowskis ;-) Was hoping for a mis-spelling of Jarvis.
Tried to find a City Directory for Hammond IN for 1942-43, but no luck.
Good Luck on your search.........
