Would like to locate living relatives of Wayne Richard Erickson who served in the Marine Corps squadron VMB-423 during WWII. He, along with 6 other crew members, perished when their bomber crashed in the South Pacific area April 22, 1944.

It's possible Erickson was born in Ohio. At time of enlistment he lived in Minnesota. His mother was also listed as living in Minnesota at that time. Her name was MATHA BEATRICE MANKINS. Some records show her first name as Natha or Martha.

It is thought she later moved to Tavares, FL (Lake County); died March 1987. Husband's name may have been Hobart/Hobert Mankins who was a railroad worker.

Thanks for any help!
