Alex,
My wife's great grandparents came from Floridia to near Hartford in 1905-1911. His name was Concetto Mangiafico, and there are many descendants around. Here is a photo of one son (my wife's great uncle): Picasa Web Albums - Steve Hall

Default Travel from Sicily in 1910

Question about travel: In 1910, how would families get from their village in Sicily to the docks in Naples? Would this be by horse-drawn cart to Palermo, and then by small boat to Naples?

Default Mangiafico family in Sicily

Ciao Alex,

My Nonno on my mothers side was Salvatore Mangiafico and he was born in Floridia in Sicily on 27/6/1914 and moved to Melbourne Australia in 1951 and died in Melbourne Australia on 22/4/2005. He had an older sister Angela who married and moved to Argentina.

Could they be related somehow??

Josie

While I'm here I may as well ask, we are trying to track down my nonno's older sister.
Her maiden name was Angela Mangiafico.
She married and had at least one son called Alfio.
They moved from Floridia to Argentina.
Is there any way I will be able to trace them??
