I was born into a strange last name of Guedelha. Neither of my parents had bothers or sisters. I have always wondered if there is anyone else out there with the same name, and if so can they be of any relation to me. My father is originally from Portugal, so I assume it's a portuguese name.

This is fascinating information, it looks like this name is indeed from Portugal and of Jewish descent. This link above offers a free copy of a booklet about the subject.

From what I saw your family name has a very rich history AND is traceable a long way back.
