Default Birth records

Can someone help me find my father's birth father??
He was born in Blacks Ferry or Bowling Green in 1897 to Savilla Hume and a person named Turner. I belong to Ancestory but can find nothing.
His first name was Varnie.

MiMi, you can try KYGenWeb - they've just updated a tad. You might also try entering your husband's name, in all it's forms (first-last, first-middle-last, first-mi-last, nickname-last,etc) in your search bar (I prefer Dogpile search) just in case his dad has also gone online looking for his son and left a post somewhere. Also, you can probably get into genealogy.com forums since you're in Ancestry - look for a "Hume" family forum. A lot can be found by putting what you know in the search-bar - such as his mother's name - if someone has posted their family tree online, she might show up and you can follow leads from there. Good luck. (p.s., I found my birth family with method #1, i.e., putting my own name in the search bar.)

I know thats really frustrating for you. You can find his details from some websites. No doubt they will charge you but, sometimes it works.I know some of the websites:-

Birth Record Search, Public Birth Records Search
USA Birth Records Search Finder

In fact I also had a rather similar experience but i was able to find my great grand father's date of birth from one of the sites. Best of Luck :-)

I am not a searcher... but it might help to know that Hume is an indian name common in Chickasaw and Chocktaw. You might check the rolls with those nations in Oklahoma. I believe both rolls offices are in Tishomingo. Chickasaw's might be officed in Ada.

Good luck!
