Can you tells us her exact birthdate? If she was adopted, her whole name may have changed.

I'm actually not related to her...I just happen to read the story online from the TV station and hoped that someone out there might know of her......after some research, I believe that I have located her and have contacted her mother this morning. I hope this is a happy ending

Default Update

Good news!

Nelda's Mother and Sister called me this evening to say that they've talked to Nelda's immediate family. They were so happy and will be in touch with her in the next couple of days. I'm so happy for them

Default Final Update

11:30 last night Nelda's Mother called me to tell me that they had just finished talking to Nelda on the phone for the first time. Nelda's Mom was so Happy. She said Nelda was thrilled to know that she had family in search of her. They'll be planning a reunion with all the children together and she said the news station would be covering it.
What a happy ending!

Smile Thank you Singe

Singe,

I am Nelda's fiance. I cannot thank you enough for what you did. The last few years have been hard on Nelda. She lost a stepson from a previous marriage that she loved dearly, her adoptive brother was in a car accident that left him paralyzed and brain damaged, and this past January her adoptive mother past away.

Nelda had just about given up hope of ever finding her biological family. Something I knew she wanted dearly. We had tried just about everything.
I cannot count the number of times she looked at the picture taken of her and her sister Kristy 40 years ago and cry. It hurts to know that the person you love more than anything had lost not one, but two families.

This is the happiest I have ever seen her. She has been on an emotional high since the 17th. She jokes that she's going to get lockjaw from smiling so much. She has been able to meet two of her sisters and three of her brothers. We are going back up this weekend so she can meet two sisters that were out of town. We are also planning on relocating to the Tulsa area so she can be near her family.

Between you and Channel 6 in Tulsa, there is no way we can ever repay you for what you have done. No words can describe how it feels to see here look at the picture and smile instead of cry.It renews my hope that there are still kind, decent people in the world and good things still do happen.

Thank you again.

Kirk
