Still looking-does this ever end? It's not that I want anything to come out of finding him, I think it's the not-knowing. I look at my daughter and I see myself and my husband in her, little things, like she has my nose and eyes, but his toes and his chin. I can only do that half way for myself. Where did my blonde hair come from? I think that's all I am looking for. In today's day and age, all he would have to do is google his name to find this post. Who hasn't googled their own name? How simple it could be. But that's not reality, are things ever just that simple? I am sure many of you are just as frustrated as I am. My wish for the New Year is for my own sense of peace to be able to just let it go. And for all of you that you find what you're looking for and/or that you can let it go as well. I'll always have hope, but I don't hold any expectations.
God Bless.
Anne

Ancestry.com is amazing. I actually saw a copy of my dad's draft registration card from the WWI era, with his very recognizable signature on it. Also found all the children from his first marriage, the census data for my mom's family from the 30's (handwritten!) It was worth it.

Anne,
Hey there - I always wonder how your search is going. I have been poking around on Ancestry for you again. Ancestry.com is adding more and more records all the time so I never know what I will find.

Question - when your mom met Dale in Missouri in 1973, would they have been in high school or maybe recently graduated? Did your mom go to school in Columbia? I am going to try checking the school yearbooks (some online now) for the younger siblings while I wait for your answer.
Stacy

OK, I decided to use some modern technology here.... I posted on a forum in Facebook for Columbia, MO. Now, these people on facebook are probably younger - college, young 20's.... but I asked them to ask parents or anyone older they knew if they might have known Dale. Did you post in the MO message board here? You might get some help if you ask posters to ask parents and friends to look at old yearbooks so we can get names of more brothers/sisters too. Just a thought...

Thanks for the information-I haven't tried Facebook, but the younger siblings idea might be good. I know she said she had several younger siblings and they had just moved to Columbia when they met in the summer of 73. My mom had just graduated from High school, not in Columbia, and he and his family had just moved from somewhere in Nebraska to be closer to his sister Pat and her husband. She seemed to think that his mom had left his dad and that was the reason for the move. But if there is a library in Columbia that keeps old yearbooks, that might work if we could find any Henderson children that were added (not in the yearbook the year before) in 1972 or 1973, then I would have more sibling names to go on. I will research the libraries in the area. Thanks again!
Anne

Anne, it looks like the regional library is Daniel Boone Regional Library in Columbia. Still no replies on the Columbia facebook - it might not be updated much anymore .
