If you say you are looking for the owner, their thoughts might go straight to "lawsuit" and they are afraid to help you. So let them know you are trying to find a "childhood friend" who was the son of a person who used to work there, and you are hoping the owner may remember them.

I told them I was looking for lost family friend, with those campgrounds as last known address. I wsh my sister had internet access but her puter is broke. It would make it easier. I also wish she could remember more, but 20 yrs is a long time and shes trying to remember, also being a teenager in 87 was rough enough. After she came home from myrtle beach, she married and old boyfriend within a few weeks, and they had a son. Divorced a few years later, she remarried, Ex later was killed in car wreck, when ex died his parents insisted on dna test on her son because they lost both there sons young. The test was done using exs parents and her son turns out he was not their grandson. Now her son wants to know where he came from, medical history, etc. This Scott is the only other possibility. Her son deserves to know who he is and this man needs to know he has a son. Her husband is also demanding closure on this as it really has gone on to long. Not about child support or anything her son is 20 yrs old now. Its about the truth and closure so they can put this behind them and move on with their lives. And now you know the rest of the story.....lets hope for HAPPY ENDING

Yeah, I kinda figured there was a 20 yr old at the heart of it. Shame on the ex's parents for opening the can of worms.

If we can't find the campsite owner through free sources, you can always go to one of the background check paysites.

paying sites is hopefully a last resort, not a lot of cash going around. Sis is a nurse and doesnt get much time off work.May have to travel to Myrtle Beach maybe seeing old things will help. Mom done went and tried courthouse and talking to some people, Not much from courthouse, people remembered Scotts dads nickname was Robin Hood however they could not remember real name. May never get solved, but we keep on trying.

Do your parents save paperwork? Campsite space rental agreement, receipts, canceled check... something might have "Robin Hood's" name on it.

How about starting a thread on the South Carolina/Myrtle Beach city-data forum page?
Title: Sherwood Forest Campground in North Myrtle Beach

Then ask if anyone remembers it or knows the owners.

Wonderful Idea, hcgCali!

dlm1966: Did you know there is a "Lewis Lake" in North Myrtle Beach? Maybe it was named after the "Lewis" you are looking for. Just a thought. I am grabbing at straws here!
