I finally got a hold of my aunt in Northern Indiana and she said that I do have family that still lives in Missouri. She said that most still live in what was called the Bootheel . I have 2 names of towns and forgive me if I spell them wrong..but she said Gideon and Bragg City is where alot still live. She said I am related to some Stanfields, Ryans and Normans..that I have alot of 2nd cousins that are the normans.. She said a few of my other aunts went to Missouri a few years ago to visit some of them I don't have addresses or phone numbers at this point so am searching this way til I hopefully get some. I'll give some names of my mom and grandma and grandpa and aunts and uncles names and maybe someone on here will recognize them and hopefully I can learn who my family is from MO.
My grandma and grandpa lived there many years ago and gave birth to 8 of their 9 children there..alot of the children were born in dif towns due to they moved alot and some were home births and some were born in dif hospitals. As far as I know they stayed in the southern part of missouri known as the Boot hills.
My grandparents names were Luther & Ruby Wilkerson.
Their Children's names
Robert, Shirley, Earlene, Patricia (called pat or patty), Brenda (her dad called her tommy, she was a tomboy) Debra, Linda, and Carolyn.
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Christy

Default I are one

The Normans first came to the New world in the 17th century. Presumably they were from England - but even this is unproven. They were in RI, MD, NJ, VA, TN, KY and NC. In VA Richard settled on Mobjack Bay, Issac was baptised at Abington Parish in Gloucester, and Thomas was in Stafford. Issac's children and grandchildren moved from VA into TN, KY and NC. And some of the chiildren moved west into Ohio in Coshocton and Muskingum. The NJ Normans also moved into Muskingum, Ohio. From Muskingum mine moved across Indiana and settled on the Illinois side fo the Indiana/Illinois border annd moved west into into central Illinois, Mississippi and SD after the CW. Now there is also a Southern Illinois Norman line but I do not know who their ancestor is.

Your MO boot heel kin live south of ST. Louis on the Mississippi River, It is quite possible they are related to the KY Normans, but there are no guarantees.. A male DNA test from your father, your brother,, your uncle or male cousin might be able to tell you which of the many Norman ancestors is yours.
