Hey I don't know if this will help anyone with this search, but I found this website that lists the names of men who were inducted and transfered in the military back in Sept. 1942. This list was from what I believe to be a newspaper called the Greenwood Gleaner which is a Wisconsin newspaper. There is a name Lawrence H. Larson listed and it says Greenwood next to his name. Maybe this is where he was from.

Here is the link:

History: WWII Inductions & Transfers (24 Sept. 1942) (http://www.usgennet.org/usa/wi/county/clark/webbbs/records/index.cgi?read=22135 - broken link)

Good Luck and I hope that you all can help this fine young person get more info. about Mr. Larson.

Could the Lawrence H Larson at the bottom of this page be the same one? You may have seen this already.

I have found another website, that you might be able to post a question about info. for Lawrence H. Larson. There may be a few of his fellow commrads that might be able to give you more info. Here is the link to the website:

About the 508th Airborne Chapter

I'm sure these fellows would be glad to know that someone is taking care of their fallen commrad's gravesite.

Here is one last bit of info. I could find. The 508th PIR started an Association for members of the 508th that served during WWII and held annual reunions starting in 1975 until 2004. I found a person's info. that was in charge of making some of the arrangements for one of the reunions.

Here is his info:
James W. Smith
1403 Valencia Dr.
Fayetteville, NC 28303
(910)-488-6201

He helped with the 1982 reunion.

Again Good Luck and I hope you find more info.

TVDL...
I know you have made some progress on the people search forum and found he was born in Baron County, Wisconson.
Some addtional info - he was born in the city of Cameron. This is from a website mainting by the county newspaper. This site has an email link to a person that may help:

WWII KIA's

That would be my next course - contact local newspapers and maybe the library in that county.
