I am looking for help. I was born in Miami, Florida on 5/21/67. Months later I was adopted by a family in Bronx, N.Y.
I know absolutely nothing except that my name was supposed to be Francis (So I was told). I also know that my biological tried to get me back but was forced to proceed.
My adoption was through Catholic Charities.
I would really like to find my biological mother! I don't want her to carry this burden anymore. I just want to know who she is. Why? What was going on?
Anyone that could help would be greatly appreciated.
I can be reach here: billybill231@yahoo.com

Hi William. Back then things were different. The mother ended up raising the child for a few months until they could be placed.

There is a place you can register for free.. go to google type in adoption. the 1st site that comes up, your keyword.com you can register. There is also specific message boards for catholic charities - you have to register on both sections of the site. I did not and did not know to look on the other section where my brother was listed. I don't think you should rule out Catholic Charities of NY/NJ. I don't know how common it was to place a child that far away. It turns out my brother was living less then 10 miles from me.

Back then it was so shameful to have a child out of wedlock. I never knew I had a brother until I was in my 30's. It was never mentioned. If you have sibs, it's possible they didn't know.

btw,.. if you have any info on your BM or BF, make sure you try different spellings of the names. My mothers name was spelled wrong.

If you want to DM me that's fine. I'm going to DM you a copy of this in case the mods edit it.

Default Hello

Hello my name is Amanda Lewis. I am searching for my brother. My father Blake Lewis had a child with a woman named Jill Froscher in 1967 somewhere in Florida. All that my father and I know is that the baby was given up for adoption in New York. I think that they said it may have been a doctors family. Please write me back so that we can talk. It seems nearly impossible to find the person I'm looking for but your story does seem very similar. Thank you and God Bless.
