Hi,
I'm looking for her to exchange calls or emails, as she wrote an article about the closure of the Emergency Shelter I am looking for people from.
I'd like to contact her and ask about her research on the place. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner I've had the article for a while.
I've tried NYT previously w/o response. I sent another email today, hopefully it'll work.
I also found someone of the same name in NY, on myspace and contacted them, it wasn't her.

Update: The Essex County Emergency Children's Shelter had morphed into the Center for Abused and Abandoned Children by the time Ms. Gardner wrote her article. I'm pretty sure it was only the name and possibly the faces that changed there.
I've gotten several names off of zabasearch an idea I got from someon on CL. (I lost all my hard drive a week ago so I'm starting over. I didn't properly ensure the media I saved the important info too was actually holding that info. ) I need to rebuild that search engine favorites list off my messages on CD again.
I have sent off 5 letters to likely candidates. I left two messages on answering machines, and spoke to one person that shouted across trhe room " are you working for the NYT?" then told me she wasn't interested at this time. :-} I'll try that one again later, I'm not holding my breath.
Oh Yea the NYT Public Editor desk told me they do not know where she is and would certainly tell me if they did, and they do not keep records or track of former employees.

Sandra Gardner

This article (at bottom of page) refers to Sandra Gardner, former writer for NYTimes and living in Woodstock. I've found other sites that refer to her poetry and occasional writing for the Woodstock Times. She and her husband were members of the Woodstock Poetry Society.

Sandra L Gardner (68) Places lived: Woodstock NY, Lake Hill NY, Teaneck NJ
Husband: Lewis Gardner - poet, author, playwright

2 addresses listed
16 Cedar Way, Woodstock NY 12498 or
4018 State Route 212, Lake Hill NY 12448

Same phone for both: 845-679-4090

Good Luck Nutley!

Thank You, it was her. She had no information. She did not save any notes. She didn't remember anyone's names. She recomended I search online. :-}
She was surprised her contact information is online.

Thank You again, I can at least close that avenue off. One less to think about. I hoped for a lot more, I'm very let down. And so it goes......

The below link is to a user posting on NJ.com who says they are doing research for a book or articles about people that were at the center. Don't know how valid this is, but...
