where is my GI father? (location, name, member, USA)

Default where is my GI father?
The only information I have is his name is Walt Haines, I do not know if Walt is a nickname or his middle or first name, or if Walt is short for Walter. Also I do not know if Haines is the correct spelling. His age would roughly be between 77-80? and as far as I know his last known location was Birmingham UK. march-may 1957. I was told he was Groundcrew in the USAF possibly stationed at RAF Chelveston.
