I bought a "box lot" at an acution the other day. Looking though it I found some old war letters and pictures. The letters are from and to Carl Bodansky. His address at the time seems to be 601 West 174th St, NY, NY. He had written a letter saying he got his "papers" on July 17th (no year) paper # 4969708, petition # 375267 and that he was not an alien, he was a citizen of the USA. There is also a letter written to him from Rome so he may have come from there...but the letter was in English so who knows. He was in the 68th Q.M. Refrig co. the box was bought from a house sale in NJ so maybe he lived there? Thought he might like this stuff back (if he is still alive) or a relative might want it. Thanks all.

Both of you are geniuses! Carl is alive and well and living in Delray Beach, FL. And still married to Alice (63 years he told me). Anyway I just got off the phone with him and it was a lovely conversation...he is totally with it. The letter from Rome was from his old war time girlfriend! One of the letters was from an old war time buddy of his who is still alive and living in NYC. Amazing stuff. Anyway I am mailing him all the letters and pics on Monday...I'm so thrilled to be able to get it back to him. Thanks again!
