About 20 years ago I won a personal injury case when I was bitten in the face by a dog at the age of 3. My mother was the trustee until I turned 21. I turned 21 a couple years ago, however the bank in Newhall, Santa Clarita Valley, CA which I believe was National Security Pacific, Security Pacific or Southern Pacific.. not sure. The paperwork we had on the account burnt down along with our house 5 years ago. I have no information whatsoever... Just the scars of the injury and what I know from the case... Do you have any advice on how to locate a trust fund in these tough circumstances?? Someone told me to contact the courts where the case took place, another person told me to go to the hall of records? I'm really not sure what to do. I've even tried calling a few banks where the account may have gone but have not been able to get anywhere. I just seem to keep going in circles with this and ran out of ideas. Your help would be life changing and much appreciated. Thank You.

I'd check the court records. Why doesn't your mother know if there is indeed anything left? 19 years is a long time and many trust funds unless very large could have been spent.

You could also try your state's unclaimed property department. Have you done an internet search on the old bank, there might be information about who has their holdings now, maybe?
