What kind of letter did you fax them? Was it a validation letter or a letter telling them that it's not your debt? Have you ordered your credit reports to see if they are reporting on them? If not, order them. Have you checked with the court clerk in every county you've lived in since '06 to make sure there is no suit or judgment filed in your name? If not, check!!!! If there is a judgment, had you ever been served? If there is a judgment then you need to go and ask the county clerk for a "certified" copy of the "recorded" judgment. Then you will probably have to take it to a lawyer to see if you can have the judgment vacated.
If there is no judgment then you might want to file a complaint with the BBB, your AG and with the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau).
