Would this be a bad time to mention I just had 32" LCDs installed on the rears of the headrests in my SUV?

I don't even have anyone riding back there.

And yes, when I pull up next to a Prius at a stop light, I look down my nose at him and smirk.

As far as the environment goes, my main concerns is the oceans, because that's where I take my big ass gas guzzling offshore boat to go fishing (and maybe even kill a few dolphins or turtles while I'm at it).

Very well said: "Because I can." That, you see is the whole point and the problem with Capitalism and America in particular. "Because I can" doesn't justify it. Take it to the extreme: suppose you could buy up all the food in your state--and BURN IT UP because you Could.
It doesn't make it right. But it does show your true colors.

Americans are like this all over today. They don't care about the big picture: the rest of the planet, the future of humanity. Greenhouse gas emissions alone are the tops from from SUVs in this country. Not because people need "big ass gas guzzling" vehicles but because they Need to show off and ram their Status down each others throats--at the eventual cost of the rest of the planet, too.

Because You Can.

Right, and the Attitude is that Your own little vehicle alone isn't doing jack to the environment--that's not the issue--the issue is that you're all like-minded and if One has one you All have to have One, or two, or three... Sheeple sheeple everywhere. The only reason you need them is the same reason you need to live in a big ass mansion and all the other excesses: to prove your own worth to others and yourselves. It's a materialistic penis extension.
And the Game is all about Selfishness.

Probably another motivating factor is religion since your scriptures say the planet's coming to an end so you figure F-the future and F-the environment, Jesus or whomever's gonna sweep it and save your souls. I've been down this road before with others so many times, it goes hand in hand with Ignorance.

And finally so you don't misunderstand me and where I Am coming from: I'm financially secure and independent. I no longer have to work. I own my own (modest) home (no mortgage) and everything else.
I'm at peace with myself and the environment because I Care.
Yeah, I COULD go and and blow money on a whole little fleet of Status vehicles IF I wanted to. But I don't want to, for reasons stated. Because I Care and I have this thing called a Conscience and above all else I don't want to Join Them.
Because I'm better than Them.

Folks, this is a SECURE man.... He has it all figured out!

Can we just shut down the Personal Finance forum and follow his teachings instead? I mean America is so f-ed up with all of its capitalists and Mercedes SUVs that it's not worth living here any more.

From this day forward, I renounce all of my worldly possessions, and vow to live off the land. Who's with us?

You still sound a little bitter about that whole WWII thing.......

If you don't enjoy the privilege of living in the United States, go the hell back to Germany.

Are you on any FBI watch lists? Should you be?
While I think you're just probably trolling and enjoying people paying attention to your posts, which are probably untrue anyway, you sound like the time of person we might associate with a gun and a movie theatre.

Who cares? Do you care? At least I won't pick up some STD. I might live longer this way...
Ultimately I'm happier being single and that's one of the secrets of financial stability...
No blonde parasite to leach my wallet...
I'd get more mileage out of a blowup doll. Even more than that if I buy a Used one since they depreciate so fast... Of course the idiots around here would pay $50k for one if it came with 20 megawatt speakers and spoke with a French accent or something like that... Put one in the passenger side seat and drive it around...

The key to surviving in America is frugality. You'd be surprise how many times you can reuse the same old condom over and over again. Just wash it out every time you use it...

OKAY, I AM KIDDING!
(Or you'd better hope that I am)

My brother in law has an older porsche boxter that is in near showroom condition. He only paid 19,000 for it last year. I wouldn't know the difference between his car and a brand new 51,000 dollar car.

Your great grandchildren living in the slums on Soylent Green might have something colorful to say...
If More people would have followed my teachings Today.

Now I digress a little bit here...
I'm also 100% Wireless and don't use mobile phones because microwaves shred DNA and create the cancerous microbes which is an ever-increasing epidemic in today's world. Just Seconds in a microwave field opens up the blood-brain barrier allowing toxins to seep through the brain, which is The leading crux of today's Alzheimer's epidemic. Laugh at me. Go ahead. Dr. George Carlo's team conclusively proved it some 15 Years ago and many other researchers have backed those findings over the years. Go back Decades and when RF tags were used on wildlife they found cancerous growths all over the animals, including Around the RF tags. The first incidents of this non-ionizing radiation being harmful dates back to the 1960s when Russians first called the symptoms "radio frequency sickness."

Oh, but the "thermal effects" of radio frequency fields are so Low and nobody dies overnight from this stuff so it's SAFE as the Big Phone companies chant to everyone. But give it a decade or more of semi-constant use and it's a different story. This is like the old fluoroscopes in use in the 30s and 40s until some smart folks were able to put 2 and 2 together. My cousin died a couple months ago from cancer induced by wireless tech. He was only 50. A decade ago people were laughing at me, too, for preaching this stuff. I wonder where all those people are today...

The bottom line though is that if you and others would Listen To Me, you'd be far better off and that goes several times over for your children and childrens children.
Instead it's always Kill The Messanger and I'm seen as the Doom-n-Gloom dude.

As you went OT so be it.

Have you checked into the German employment system lately? The days of safe and secure employment are over. Have you checked out the US system? Even at will termination does not happen at the flick of a finger.

Medical and dental coverage is a used to be great of the past. You make your copays in Germany as well, especially dental coverage is covered on a basic level then come upgrades. MRI, specialists, anything out of the ordinary takes an approval and appointment process which is ridiculous. My mother as cancer survivor was told that mammograms over 65 are not necessary!

Education in the US is not expensive. Students and parents make it expensive by not being on top of things. Grants, scholarships, other funding - it is all there but requires effort to get.
