The title pretty much says it all. How much did you pay Liberty Tax Svc, Jackson Hewitt, or HR Block to do your tax returns for you? Please stick to answering the question and don't let the thread get hung up in a debate.

Zero. If your taxes are complicated enough to warrant hired help...
then get GOOD hired help.

Very few people have complicated returns. VERY few.

Agree wholheartedly!

We are among those few, and we have VERY good help.
That means ZERO to Liberty Tax Svc, Jackson Hewitt, or HR Block, and ~$200 to our guy.

If our return was not so complicated (documentation takes a 3" binder of papers/receipts/checks), we'd do it ourselves.

So in other words none of you should have even attempted to answer the question since you didn't get your taxes done there? Can someone who has actually gone to one of these services reply with an answer to the question?

We spent $28 to e-file our state through HR Block. We chose the free file.

My boyfriend just spent 27 dollars to e-file with HR Block. Like in the post above, the federal was free and the 27 dollars was for the state. I filed for the first time as a non-dependent last year and after a lot of research I just did it myself. Despite the research, I missed a credit I was eligible for. The IRS just gave it to me and sent me a letter explaining why my refund was higher. How nice of them! I'm more confident this year on the federal but the state will be a challenge.

Mom usually pays about $100-150 to get it through H&R Block.

Anyone can do their own taxes even the complex ones. Paying someone to do is a waste of money,
