Even if you take out a loan, you will most likely have to pay. We did a home equity line of credit last year and part of the fee was a credit score fee.
Our scores were pretty consistent across all three agencies - something like 798, 803, and 813. Our lender used the middle score.
I did a score watch trial (I think that's what it's called) to get my fico score. I read that if you're not getting a mortgage you don't need to pay for all three scores. With the trial I got equifax (or experian can't remember) credit report and my score for free and I cancelled before the trial ended.
We arent talking credit reports , we are talking credit scores. You can get the credit report free but they contain no fico scores ,they contain only your credit history..
To get your fico score you must pay .
