In this new age, we have seen many creative ideas. One of them will be you don't have to walk out of home and can deposit a check by uploading an image of your check to your bank's website.

I am just curious if the idea of banks sending out coins to its account holders will ever be possible? Have some banks already offered that service or a similar one? I know that USPS doesn't allow cash in mails because cash will be traceable if lost.

In my life, I don't like to deal with coins because they are not convenient to carry, but sometimes they are not avoidable when some automatic machines (for laundary, parking, etc) require them, and it can be very embarrassing to find out that I don't have the coins to feed those machines when I need to.

Thanks!

BTW: If I bring some paper money (like 10 dollars) to a local store and ask for exchange into quarter coins, will I not be welcomed if I don't buy anything?

Regardless of whether they would, or wouldn't, you would not be willing to pay the cost of postage.

Try walking into a local bank (small ones are best) or the bank that has a office in the supermarket. Most if not all of them will trade you a $10 for a $10 roll of quarters.

As long as you are not doing it often.

You are aware of the fact that mailing a stack of coins costs far more than a letter, right?

It sounds like this is something you think might happen soon. Do you have your tenses right? My bank has already allowed us to upload images of checks in order to deposit them, for at least the last year.

Yes, most banks will (trade/sell) you a roll or two of coins, As long as you don't show up doing it to often.

Be friendly, and go to the smaller bank, The Mega-Banks might give you a hassle.

But I've never had a problem getting coins, or breaking large bills at the small bank in my supermarket.
