I don't know about everybody else, but I am anxiously awaiting my W2's. I thought it would be cool to start a thread to see when everybody gets theirs. So when you get your W2's, just post on this thread saying that you got it!

Just as a side note, by law, the W-2's, 1099's, and similar tax documents are supposed to be mailed by January 31 of each year, unless that has changed. We're going to get a document from every bank or credit union that has paid us interest during 2012, as well as every mutual fund we own shares in that has distributed capital gains or other dividends, etc., etc. So if we're talking about waiting for what's needed to actually file tax returns, it could be a good number of documents. Even if you worked just one day for an employer and were paid wages, you will get a W-2 for that day. I normally have two employers every year for temp type jobs, as I am retired from full-time work, so I am awaiting two W-2's plus all the other stuff. We old geezers even get a 1099 for our Social Security retirement benefits!

I never got two of my w-2's from 2011, how do I go about getting them if I did want them? Also I'm waiting on three w-2's for last year.

I believe you have to contact the employer(s) that was (were) supposed to mail you the W-2 (s).

How did you file taxes without them?

You can contact the employers. If they are out of business it gets trickier but if you have your final pay stubs the IRS can help you. http://www.irs.gov/uac/What-if-my-em...-bankruptcy%3F

Default well

I only stayed at those establishments for less than two weeks, they were waitressing jobs and I never got paid so I thought I didn't have one. But I had four other w-2's as well so I filed with them.

If you never got paid even for only a few hours of work you should file a complaint with the state Department of Labor.

I'm in no rush to get my W-2's or file as I'll probably owe $5K or so.

I am my husband's office manager, so I do the W2s for the business. We have a total of five employees.

I have done all the quarterly and end of the year tax paperwork. The W2s were completed right after the last pay period of the year.

I got my W2 on December 29, 2012.

The info for the business taxes will go to the accountant on Monday. I had to wait for one check to clear.
