I cant find a forum that is correct for this, but i just want to see what people won/lost.

please include what your "gambling career" earnings or loosings is.

for myself I am up 500, but at a point i was down and up, and no, I am not a gambler. I might head to a casino once a month to catch up with friends, since i dont like malls, and the weather here makes most folks stay indoors, so the only options is a mall, casino, or a restuaunt to hang out. at the casino there are shows, a club, a lounge, so thats why im there. sometimes i bet 5 bucks, sometimes i dont, but i know my limit.

I don’t think you’ll find a lot of truth in this thread. I think gambling is a lot like talking about gas mileage.

I would have better luck trying to strike out major league baseball hitters than winning at a casino.

I rarely went and when I did I came home with less $$$$$

However, I have filled out my HORSE RACING picks every race at Oaklawn ( just for fun from home in the Little Rock newspaper ))

I bet very conservatively and after 28 races I have $1801 of "fantasy profit"

Wish I lived closer to Hot Springs AR !

Back when I was on active duty I was near a duty station, we would go and see shows, take girls, gorge at the buffet...

when I had time to kill with others... I'd take $20 and do the penny slots.

more than a few times it was lighting a $20 on fire... kept me busy.

But a fair amount of time: Every time I'd win I'd cash out, put 1/2 the winnings in my pocket and keep going till i was busted.
Often I'd make enough to pay for my buffet. (I'm talking $25 here)

Long term: You don't beat the house.

You PAY for those bright lights....

Hopefully you did better than her. (Former San Diego Mayor)

Over the long haul, VERY few people will take home more than they lost.

I've gone a couple of times with like $50. Within 2 hours my friends are feeling bad and throwing me 10 bucks since I somehow lost it all. No luck. So now when I go I just figure I will lose and if I walk out with 50 cents I'm happy.

There are monuments built all over Las Vegas honoring the people who thought they could beat the odds.

I went to AC last week and came home with $150 more than I went there with. That's NOT what usually happens, though!

I played Let-It-Ride.

As someone else said, I go with a certain amount of money and if I lose that, it was the cost of my entertainment for the day. If I come home with what I went with or close to it, I'm pretty happy. Luckily I'm too cheap to ever pay the high ATM fees at a casino, so if I lose my money, I'm not going to go get more.

I go to a casino once or twice a year. Never won anything really big. I think the most I ever got was around $700 at The Oneida Nation's Turning Stone in upstate NY.

I am down about 9% over my "gambling career" (I keep records). It's the price paid for entertainment.
