I have only been with them for a little over 1 year and I just received my renewals jacking everything up 10%. No accidents, no claims, all of my vehicles got older and depreciated, and I spent 5k removing large trees hanging over my house, to prevent any possible wind damage...10% increase.

Based on the posts here, It seem they have a corporate 10% increase policy each year to see what they can get away with. 75% or more of their clients probably don't even read their statements or notice, and happily pay.

Ever since my old agent retired, my rates have steadily increased. I purchased a newer vehicle and expected a raise in rate, but not the amount I received. I added a small coverage to my home and was told it would be about $12 a year, this wasn't bad until the bill came, oops, he made an error or I misunderstood, it was $12/month. I didn't misunderstand, I wouldn't have purchased the coverage for that amount. I asked why the huge increase in my auto? Because it is newer and costs more to replace. When I asked why my premium didn't decrease on my older vehicle? Because they stop making parts and they are more costly to repair. Then when the renewal came in and it increased again, the reply was, State Farm had premium increases across the board! I have been with State Farm almost 40 years, they were a great insurer. Key word is were. I am shopping insurance for the first time decades.

I am glad I found this thread! I thought mine went up $37 because I live with my girlfriend and she's had a couple accidents about to fall off her record (we are not on each other's policies). I know I haven't done anything derogatory to warrant an increase.
I live in suburban Columbus, Ohio.

I work at state farm in ohio and havent noticed anything change dramatically. Could just be in your location. Rates always go up each year, normally even a little. I always like to shop around at renewal time. Never use to and found out we were overpaying a lot.

Common reasons for an increase would be tickets, accidents and credit. Otherwise its nothing to do with you specifically.
