Capital One has free checking with no min. balance. Also TD Bank has free checking with a min. balance of $100.

But always read flyers that tell of changes. Just today in the business section I read a story about Capitol One changing terms of accounts without any alert to reread the entire document. The original document includes a lengthy list of things the company can do without notice. Know about that. I still trust my credit union more.

I'd say your best bet are places that say if you eat a 72 oz steak and trimmings at one seating, its free. But you do have to work on that. Some people are born able to do it, but most people are just too normal.

So, iow there's no such thing as a free lunch (or steak dinner)?
Kind of how there's no such thing as free checking.

Credit Unions are part of the Co-Op Network (Home > CO-OP ATM Location Search), which means that you can use any credit union to deposit money or use their ATM without a fee. In addition to those, you can use any 7-11 ATM, along with getting cash back at retail stores. It's very convenient.

Fidelity has no-minimum checking and free ATMs nationwide with ATM rebates (they refund you what the machines charge you).

While they are nationwide, they don't have as many branches as other banks. However, these days, you rarely need a branch.

Yes PNC the Basic Virtual Wallet is still Free one of 2 ways.....

A.) You have at least 1 Electronic Deposit a month that's at least 500$ can be any Direct Deposit, ACH Transfer, Wires... OR...... B.) You conduct all your transactions Electronically (No using Human Tellers).

I have the VW with Performance Spend.... So i get the benefits of ATM reimbursements.... For all the flack the Big mega banks get, 1 thing that keeps me with a mega bank is the convenience. I hate running all the way out of my way just to use an in-network ATM.

I think Orange does something like this, too. It is a very popular part of online banking.
