Sounds like you're wondering when taxes are due on rental income you received

If that's correct, go to a tax preparer/CPA and have them do the return for you, at least for this year. Due date is April 15th. They'll have the proper location for you--because that depends on what County you're in.

If you're just subletting rooms in an apartment you've already rented, I can't imagine there's much in the way of expense for income tax purposes beyond what your prorated rent to your landlord for the rooms is. Maybe utilities (but again, you should be including this in the rent you charge), possibly depreciation on furnishings that you own and your other roommates use.

Are you looking for tax deductions? Because this is a lousy tax shelter. Are you doing AirBNB or something?

Indeed.

I have a 3BR and my rent is $1500.

I have 2 roommates I charge $750 each... And don't report anything to the IRS.

Neither irs or NYS does extensions by phone

See this IRS web site

Tax Topics - Topic 304 Extensions of Time to File Your Tax Return

where it says, in part,

"Topic 304 - Extensions of Time to File Your Tax Return
There are three ways you can request an automatic extension of time to file a U.S. individual income tax return: (1) you can electronically file Form 4868 (PDF), Application For Automatic Extension of Time To File U.S. Individual Tax Return; (2) you can pay all or part of your estimated income tax due using a credit or debit card or by using the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS); or (3) you can file a paper Form 4868 by mail. "

And for NYS, see

Apply for an extension of time to file an income tax return

where it says, in part,

"You must request the extension of time to file on or before the due date of your return. Request your extension online.

You file an extension, you don't request it over the phone.
