Hi,

Like the title say, how much would it take if you've been happy with your insurance company (home and auto) for let's say over 5+ years but got an offer from another company that's cheaper? What would it take for you to switch?

Not much at this point. I need to switch from Allstate and haven't taken the time - but this year I will!

Research. That's what it would take for me. Track record of company, track record of accident payouts, satisfied customers, and my satisfaction over years. Had one company that was cheaper, ( big supposedly good rep) someone in family had accident not their fault and they were awful. Switched to a cheaper ( another national) later and couldn't be happier. They have been fantastic through 2 deer accidents, renewals without increases etc. Have had two quotes that were cheaper with two other nationals and would never ever switch including the one that has been trying to get me back for years. I have lots of vintage Mercedes, paid on time, and many driving so I have an account they would want as I do pay.

I have been with them many years now and would not switch unless something fantastic came along, after lots of confirmed research. Not just opinions on here.

$50.

I'll change anytime I get annoyed by the fact that I pay for car insurance, but I've never used it. Don't forget, in most cases, you don't have to wait for your policy to be up, you'll get a refund of your unused premium.

My girlfriend and I pay $500 combined for both of our car insurances. If that went down to $450 at the same coverage, I'd switch.

If it was for the exact same coverage?
If both companies had the same ratings from JD Power?

Not much at all. But I'd contact my current company first and ask them if they wanted to match the lower price

$100+ a year. My insurance is way too convenient for me to waste my time changing over and taking a chance on anyone else for less.

NJ only has two good auto insurance providers. USAA and NJM. I wouldn't switch out of those two.
