there are very options to manipulate prior to fra.

by the way, divorced folks can file spousal claims on each other but married folks cannot..

Counterintuitively, claiming Social Security benefits is one of the most complex financial decisions you'll ever have to make. Don't try this at home. Just go to Larry Kotlikoff's web site, http://www.maximizeyoursocialsecurity.com, pay the $40, and do what it says.
