Depends on income. A high income allows you to do a lot without having to wait as long. A lower income may mean you've got some tough choices to make, but you still have room once you decide which sacrifices are worth making. A very low income means you can't afford to have kids.

A few reasons we did not have kids, one was Financial! could not afford it 10 years ago, can't afford it now. Maybe that's why we are living comfortably. Kids can be expensive ask my BIL who had 2 kids in college.

Actually the US has fallen to historic lows on the birthrate and our current rate is well below the replacement rate.

i am laughing because my son has a new baby turning 1 year old today , is buying a house now and is buying a partnership in the law firm firm he works for.


my step son has a 2-1/2 year old , bought a house 2 months ago and just bought a partnership in an auto leasing firm.


talk about nerves of steel .

I always asked for money from about 9 years old and still have all the money given to me in a box and in the cards given to me. If the money was given without a card, I wrote who give it to me on the money and put it in the box. I even have random dollars given to me for no reason by my parents/grandparents. What's funny is that a few months ago I was looking through my cards and found a uncashed check for $20 given to me by my aunt on Christmas 15 years ago...oops!

Kids don't have to be as expensive as you think. Most people simply find ways to make it expensive.
