Since I graduated college (2007), my net worth has increased every single year since.

don't you hate it when the OP started a question thread without even answering the question his/her self?

Was a good year. Not great like 2013, but good enough.

You know, this is an interesting thread, but I can't help but think it will be bias towards "increase" because of the simple fact that people who read and post in a personal finance forum are probably concerned with and work on their personal finances. And people who care, probably do well (with an exception of course for people who had something really bad happen to them that--through no fault of their own-- that brought down their net worth (like big medical bills or something like that).

People who spend all their money (and more) and by doing so decrease their net worth probably don't frequent forums like this.

Oh, you're completely right. Personal finance forums are not representative of the US population. But that goes without saying.

My wife and I are up to record highs as well. While the market has helped our savings rate is what is really pushing the number and the market could trend down and I'd still expect total net worth to climb for the next 2-3 years, in the 3-5 year range I expect the tables to turn and market movements could override the net worth movements regardless of savings
