Yes, get one. One kid could sue the other saying they are entitled to your whole estate! A neighbor could sue the kids saying that you told them (the neighbor) that they were getting everything, etc.

I won't go into detail but this event will tell you why my wife was in a pickle,11/15,2010 I had a heart attack while visiting in another state,had triple bypass.
At 78 I had no will nor directives.She had no legal control over me.Our debit card expires in Nov. and did expire because we were out of state,cards cannot be forwarded,unknown to my wife,she could not pump gas,could not renew cards without me.
I had to do temporary change of address from hospital to get cards.
We now have power of attorney on accounts and daughter as 3rd party on accounts.Life is not simple,we have all the bases covered.

Unfortunately, sometimes you find out the hard way. I've learned a lot at the school of hard knocks. They weren't my favorite lessons, but I learned quite a bit.
