I'd say skip this step. The bank has done nothing wrong here. They are simply taking the steps to get the money they are due by agreement. Sounds like the OP is looking for a way to do the right thing & pay the debt. Trying to make the bank look like some sort of villian is just a way of trying to skirt PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. It irks me that so many are so quick to attempt that.

I have absolutely no intention of contacting any type of media. I think david was just trying to offer advice. My intention is to get out of this mess by making some sort of arrangement with the bank. Not to fore go payment in any way.

if you have trouble getting through to the loss mit dept call and ask for the foreclosure dept. You will be connected to the specialist that handles the foreclosures for NJ. The attorney will have the name of the person in the foreclosure dept that they are working with also might have a direct number.
They might be able to help but at least can transfer to the correct loss mit person.

If you are not getting a response again call the attorney they may help you get a call back

Just make sure you get something in writing with a payment schedule. Last thing I'd want to see is you sending $4K to the bank, and the bank stating that you are still 3 months behind (i.e. applied the $4K first to legal fees) and then still forclosure.

Hi everyone...I want to thank you all for your advice. Hubby just called and gave me the good news. Because of the hardship we experienced over the summer bank will accept the 4K today and then roll the remainder back into the principal! Its over. Thank you all for your advice! I appreciate it more than you can imagine.

that is wonderful news !!!!
make sure to get it in writing

many times folks have no control of the situations that result in being behind the trick is to find someone at the bank that will listen and go above an beyond to help those wanting help.
the best thing you did was communicate with them this is the first step
