Hello Ive been shopping from Amazon for awhile now but just as a old fashion buyer!
I usually pay regular shipping fees but this past purchase I bought this past december my total was about $200 and they had free shipping!

I checked my credit card purchase because one of my family members need it and I just wanted to make sure on my bank account where it says account activity to make sure how much I need to owe! However on my account activity I notice a transaction on my credit from Amazon that says Amazon Prime and that I owe $99 because I believe so now that I've signed up without really paying attention. I really would like to have that $99 refunded back to me, but i'm afraid that they won't. I totally believe that its my fault because I saw free shipping and so that was it but I didn't realize that I was

Since I realize this now and not back then how can I talk to customer service to try to have that money refunded back to me if I know about prime right now? What can I say to get my money being credited back to me?

I still want to shop at Amazon because I really like their company!

If the charge for the prime membership was just levied (and you didn't want it), you can call up Amazon for a refund.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...odeId=13819201

"You may cancel your Prime membership any time by visiting Your Account and adjusting your membership settings. If you cancel within 3 business days of signing up for or converting from a free trial to a paid membership, we will refund your full membership fee. We may charge you (or withhold from your refund) our regular prices for Prime benefits used by you and your account during this 3-business day period. If you cancel at any other time, we will refund your full membership fee only if you and your account has not made any eligible purchases or taken advantage of Prime benefits.
"

The devil is in the fine print.

Sounds like you took a free trial period and then not cancel.

You certainly can try, but it seems that you now have Prime for a year!
It may actually save you money on shipping as you like shopping there... and you get free video too.

Just make sure you cancel at the end of the year, or you automatically renew for another year (I think....).

Not to mention, you'd think someone who has shopped at Amazon "for awhile" would be comfortable enough with their site to look there for the answer.

Just contact Amazon. They will almost certainly refund you. I don't really understand what you hoped to accomplish by posting here instead of contacting them.

I love my prime membership. Not just free shipping, but free 2 day shipping.

  • I'm within the free trial period. To cancel, go to 'Your Account' > under 'Account Settings' select 'Manage Prime Membership' > Click 'Do not continue', which is the second option on the left-hand side of the page. Once done you'll continue to receive Prime services until your free trial period ends. Then your membership will cancel, and your card won't be charged.
  • My free trial has ended. To cancel, go to 'Your Account' > under 'Account Settings' select 'Manage Prime Membership' > Click 'End membership', which is the second option on the left-hand side of the page. If you've not used any Prime services since the trial ended you'll automatically get the £79 fee refunded. If you've unwittingly used any of the services, your only option is to contact Amazon, explain what's happened and urge it to refund you.
  • I subscribed to Prime without a free trial. To cancel you have 14 days to go to 'Your Account' > under 'Account Settings' select 'Manage Prime Membership' > and Click 'End membership', which is the second option on the left-hand side of the page. As long as you or your invitees (with Prime you can invite up to four eligible family members living at the same address to use the membership at no extra cost) haven't used any Prime services you'll automatically get the £79 refunded. If you or your invitees have unknowingly used Prime services, your only option is to contact Amazon, explain what's happened and urge it to refund you.
