The craziest part is. I can even eliminate more expenses. So lets say I lost my job and we just have my wife's income. I can freeze my student loan payments, drop eating out and other fun activities all together and our monthly expenses would be $4,100. That's low enough that my wife could cover it alone on her salary. So even with unemployment we'd be cash positive $2,000 each month for 6 months. With 6 months emergency fund we'd actually stretch it 12 more months assuming my wife was still employed. I have plenty of business experience for a small firm at an executive level, I have a 4 year nursing degree, and even if I had to do a nursing refresher course, finding a job paying $75k+ shouldn't take more than 3-4 months. I know I'd be starting at the nursing bottom, but I wouldn't mind.
Even with all that I'm still anxious about my financial future and the unknown and I'm only 30!!!
