The only jobs in the legal field are for attorneys? There are no jobs whatsoever for paralegals, clerks, or other office staff? Of course there are. None of those jobs pay more than minimum wage? Of course they do.

If the job market is not great in the legal field, then look into the accounting field. There are tons of jobs out there for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. Is it the same as being an accountant? No, it's not. And those jobs are not 6 figure jobs. But they sure beat minimum wage, and they are jobs with room to increase your knowledge and move up.

You could improve your situation by increasing your income and doing work you enjoy more than what you are doing now.

My point was a rebuttal to "it's useless. I don't have the fancy degree so I'm condemned to low income." I know plenty of 6-figure income people who don't have college degrees and aren't anything close to being a Mensa candidate. What they have is great work ethic, a willingness to take on more responsibility, and a willingness to learn. If you don't have the personality and the drive to do that, it's not my problem. The United States gives you the opportunity. It's not a Social Democracy that rewards mediocrity.

So true. Smarts, looks and accident of birth are all good but without ambition it's still a bust. Ambition can overcome lack of all of those.

I'm in the 6 fig club without a college degree and I am there exactly because of this

it is silly to discuss what he could have done . he has no motivation and never did .

he complains but he never took control of his life to make things happen .

Yep, people automatically think that to make good money they have to get a min, masters degree. The problem is these schools teach you how to work for someone else and specialize when instead if you have a good idea, drive, are willing to take a risk you could start a business and eventually hire the specialist.

The education you can get online is amazing, add some book reading to it, maybe a class here and there, and stop believing it can't be done when in fact it can. The way we hear them talk today, it's as if they are brainwashing the masses to believe they can't do it without their help.

Maybe not for that person but for someone else reading who thinks you have to go to college to be able to make good money. They can see that many people were able to do it without but they got to be self starters, willing to self teach, takes risks and work hard. So yes,

A lot of us did build that.

So if discussions like this help even one person see past the rhetoric (of it can't be done) and they try and do succeed then this other discussion like this are worth it.

I'm laughing. "Neigh" is the sound a horse makes. The double-entendre amusing though what I'm smelling seems to be coming from the other end of the horse.

We seem to be having more fun poking a stick at the naysayers than we would ignoring them.

I'm not discussing what he could have done; I'm discussing what he could do now.

Nothing changed he still will do nothing.

I would bet if anyone else with some motivation was in his position the outcome would have been very different .

It was all to easy for me to have ended up like my buddy's in the housing project we came from but i wasn't going to let it happen to me.
