I would probably say taxes, since you have more options/alternatives with the other expenses, and can sort of 'vote' with your dollars.

Taxes, you pretty much have to pay, and you get what you get.

I can't believe health care wasn't on the list. America has the most bloated and inefficient healthy care system on the planet, made worse by a population that generally has unhealthy habits that make them dependent on expensive drugs they wouldn't otherwise need.

I think healthcare is expensive for CDers cause for the most part they all make over six figures working for start ups and as contractors and business owners. I'm one of those smucks that have always work for a large corporation. I've worked for five of the 30 NBA arena sponsors! My insurance costs in 2007 were $28/month. In 2010 they were $60/mo. 2014 to present they are <$5/month. I feel bad for the people paying $1000/mo but they probably wouldn't want to trade salaries with me.

I want my housing to cost less than 20% of gross but that just isn't happening so I haven't bought a house yet. I may have to move to a cheaper and possibly undesirable area to make that happen. The crazy thing is Zillow says I can afford $276k house on my salary. Lol. I was a house half that.

Could not narrow it down to just one. As a lower middle class (or upper lower class!) it is ridiculous the amount of Federal taxes that I pay as a retiree while there are younger folks all around us who do not even have a job, do NOT pay IN taxes but get multiple thousands back on their "RETURN". State taxes also. Our state does not have a"state" tax that you file but there is a state sales tax (9.75% on MOST things, food included! Our county - car tags, wheel tax, property tax, landfill fee. The landfill really urks me since there is NO garbage pick up & we are in the country & burn garbage. Re: insurance - we are "insurance poor" (life, health, car, house) but cannot imagine that there is any we could cancel. Our cable goes up 3-4 ties a year. Have called & had "packages" trimmed & pared down as much as we can . $39/mo. package is now $88 mo. for basic. Internet access, wireless & cell phone rates also go up way to often for NO more service. Banking? We don't give a whole lot for our checking (as Sr. citizens they say) BUT interest rates on savings are whatever is worse than sucks." END OF RANT

Since my choice - healthcare - was not an option, I voted taxes.

There rest... I think that has a lot to do with where you live, your lifestyle, and how old you are.

For all those dying for a Healthcare selection .... Just use "Insurance", that's what I meant by "Medical". Sorry it was a Brain Fart.

I voted for insurance and education. I'm ok with all of my current personal expenses, actually, but those are the two that I feel are generally too high overall for what you get.

So for me I think the insurance premiums for healthcare are great value for what I get. I am on a HDHP plan and with a family have reached my max deductible a couple of years and had the rest covered by the insurance company. My qualm is the charges to begin with. On multiple occasions I have gone to the ER/Urgent care with a child for one issue or another, have been seen for less than 3 minutes to be told 'wait it out' and then sent a $400 bill for the consultation. In that regard, I don't feel like the charge is commensurate with the service. Just an example that chaps my behind when I think of the expense of healthcare.
