Amex for Costco, pay off every month. No longer gonna be accepted though in June.
B of A Alaska Air, love my companion fare every year and bonus milage. Use card often for incidentals. Tires on DW car last month. Current balance. . $1120
Citibank Visa 0%. Used for rental house expenses. Did renovations last year. Current balance $6300
Barclaycard World elite - 2% back on everything. 5% bonus redemption.
Amex Everyday Preferred - 6% back on groceries (capped at $6500) and smaller % other categories. But I only use it for groceries.
Barclaycard Sallie Mae - One of my favorite cards. 5% back on Gas, Groceries, and Books. Gas/Groceries capped at $250 a month. Groceries include big box stores like wally world, Target, and Asian groceries that don't typically receive credit from Amex. Books capped at $750 - However, Amazon is considered a book store for a lot of what they sell. SO has an account as well so our 'limits' are doubled.
Chase Freedom - rotating 5%. Only use it when the categories match.
You do realize we don't pay anything to use a debit card here in the States, right? That just seems very unusual to me on why you'd have to pay to spend your money via a debit card.
Same in the U.K., I use a debit card to pay for most purchases, restaurant bills etc, if the bill is £99, then my account is debited £99, and that's it.
I also have a 'specialist' credit card that the company that I had a mortgage with until my house was paid for brought on to the market.
There is no charge for purchasing dollars or euros from an ATM when on vacation, and a minimal one when using it in foreign stores or restaurants, and providing the account is settled within one month of using the card, it attracts no interest at all.
I only use this one when on vacation, and it probably ticks off the issuing company that they earn very little from me, but so what?

I suppose I can understand that some people refuse to use cards so they can avoid buying on credit. Personally I don't think carrying around wads of cash would help me curtail spending.
All very true, and salient points, but I guess that it depends on the individual's circumstances and lifestyle.
For years I drove my own licenced black cab in London, when it was a really good job, before London's transport commissioners let Uber bend the rules and get away with murder.
Although I took credit and debit cards, most of the fares paid in cash, so at the end of a shift I'd have £90, £100, or more in banknotes in my shirt breast pocket.
The following day, at the first opportunity, I'd pay most of that into a branch of my bank, but if there was something that I wanted to buy, a birthday gift for my wife, or an anniversary gift, a couple of shirts or a pair of chinos for myself, then I'd dip into the breast pocket and use that instead of paying it into the bank.
1. A debit/credit card from my bank. Deducted from my bank account. Cannot run a balance. I use it for all local purchase over $25.00 otherwise I pay cash. I usually carry $150 in cash with me. I often pay with cash.
2. CITI Mastercard. I use it once a month to keep the account open. Paid monthly. No balance.
3. AMEX Gold. My most used card. PayPal tied to it and I use it for all online purchases. Cannot run a balance on it. Paid off monthly.
I have no debt, no mortgage, and pay everything off monthly.
I use the freedom card for the 5% back categories .
The unlimited for every day spending .
The chase sapphire reserve for all travel and eating out . Plus we transfer all the points on the other cards to it , where it gets a 50% boost when paying myself back
The instacart 5% back card with free membership and discounts on groceries
The citi cash card for 5% on groceries other than instacart.
My wife has a chase sapphire preferred card since she got 100,000 points-for taking it and I got 20,000 points for referring her .
We then transferred her sapphire preferred points to my sapphire reserve and had them boosted by 25%
Mathjak you should add the chase ink cash, it’s a business card that I believe is 90k for 6k in spend in 3 months. I can send you a link if you want, you can get the card and the sign up bonus and then refer your wife. Similar swap to how I outlined the sapphire for you
What? I have one card. I've had it for 30+ years. It's a USAA and gives me cash back. Low interest rate but that doesn't matter because I have rarely ever carried a balance. At one point I had a HELOC which I basically used to put an addition on my house but paid off fairly quickly.
I can't imagine having more than one. My credit score is high. Maybe it could be higher? but I've never had a problem getting a mortgage. (I am currently mortgage free)

It would be hard for us to support it because we are not traveling right now .
So we are making use of the reserve and preferred , but thanks
2. BOA card because of the great cash rewards/other perks. We use this one for everything and pay it off monthly. Barclays card as a backup in case of fraud on the BOA. I have a high credit limit on both so 2 cards are plenty.

I sent you a dm. Build the points where you can, there’s thousands of dollars waiting for you even if you aren’t traveling
